Tongariro Lodge Wilderness Heli-Fishing
To enjoy great trout fishing at Tongariro Lodge it is by no means necessary to helicopter fish. However, it is a fantastic experience and very worthwhile considering while staying at the Lodge.
Tongariro Lodge is one of New Zealand's most experienced heli-fishing outfitters. Since 1982 Lodge guides and experienced pilots have been accessing the best wilderness rivers in New Zealand, including the famous Rangitikei and many other hidden gems.

Tongariro Lodge has special access to large estates of private land with numerous wilderness rivers that provide trophy trout fishing for browns and rainbows.
This year we have acquired additional wilderness helicopter access and will be offering Lodge anglers even more new and exciting rivers.
Enjoy a majestic flight from the lodge into the nearby Kaimanawa Ranges and be dropped right on the river bank of a stunningly beautiful river. Anglers and guide then fish their way up stream, spotting, stalking and casting to some of the biggest trout in the country.
The helicopter picks you up at the end of the day and whisks you back to the Lodge. Overnight heli-fishing camps can also be arranged.
